Collection: Kunzite

Kunzite is a pink gemstone prized for its exceptional transparency and delicate to intense violet-pink hues. The color originates from manganese within the crystal lattice of the mineral spodumene. Particularly high-quality, uniformly colored specimens in larger sizes are relatively rare. Significant deposits are found in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Brazil, and Madagascar, with Afghan kunzite being especially renowned for its intense color. Top-quality kunzite is gaining increasing importance in the high-end jewelry market.

  • Key properties of kunzite

    • Hardness: 6.5–7 on the Mohs scale – sufficiently resistant for jewelry, but sensitive to strong impacts.
    • Color: Pale pink to intense violet-pink; the stronger and more even the color, the higher the value.
    • Transparency: High-quality kunzites are characterized by high clarity and a glass-like luster.
    • Locations: Afghanistan and Pakistan yield particularly sought-after qualities; further deposits are located in Brazil, Madagascar and the USA.
  • Kunzite as an investment

Kunzite has primarily been a collector's item and gemstone. High-quality, intensely colored, and clear specimens in larger sizes are, however, limited. Due to the increasing demand for intensely colored gemstones, kunzite is gaining more attention. Particularly fine qualities from Afghanistan are fetching stable and sometimes rising prices on the international market.

  • Effect of Kunzite

Kunzite is said to have a calming and heart-opening effect. It is believed to promote emotional balance, compassion, and inner peace. In gemstone lore, kunzite is often associated with the heart chakra and is considered a stone of love and harmony.
