Collection: topaz

Topaz is a fluoro-aluminum silicate and is one of the most versatile gemstones. It occurs in numerous color variations, including colorless, blue, yellow, orange, pink, and, rarely, in its natural state, an intense golden color ("Imperial Topaz"). Clear, intensely colored specimens with high brilliance are particularly prized. Important deposits are located in Brazil, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Russia, and Nigeria.

  • Key properties of topaz

Hardness: 8 on the Mohs scale – very suitable for jewelry, but should be handled carefully due to pronounced cleavage.
Color: Colorless as well as in shades of blue, yellow, orange and pink; intense and natural colors increase the value.
Transparency: Transparent to translucent; high-quality stones exhibit very high clarity and a strong glassy luster.
Locations of deposits: Significant deposits are located in Brazil (leading), Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Russia and Nigeria.

  • Topaz as an investment

Topaz is widely available, but naturally colored, untreated specimens in intense hues are significantly rarer. Imperial topaz from Brazil, in particular, is considered a stable investment in the premium gemstone segment. High-quality, naturally colored stones with a clearly traceable origin command stable market prices.

  • Effect of topaz

Topaz is associated with clarity, self-confidence, and inner strength. It is said to promote mental order and support positive energy. Topaz is traditionally considered the birthstone for November .
